ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) was developed specifically to address ABS's biggest weakness: UV and weather sensitivity. It offers comparable strength and heat resistance, but holds up where ABS fails — in sunlight, rain, and temperature swings.

  • Similar strength and heat resistance to ABS
  • Slightly less prone to warping than ABS
  • Good long-term colour stability outdoors

Weaknesses:

  • Still benefits from an enclosure — not as forgiving as PLA or PETG
  • Produces fumes — print in a ventilated space
  • Less post-processing flexibility than ABS
